Car Industry History of Japan Vol. 2
In 1932, Datsun-shokai was founded which is the former company of Nissan now.
A year after, Toyota Industries Corporation Car Department was founded which is the former company of TOYOTA now.
Kaihsin-sha was merged into Datsun-shokai and a lot of people at Hakuyo-sha got into Toyota Industries Corporation Car Department.
Toyota and Datsun (Nissan) both tried manufacturing passenger cars such as Toyoda AA and Datsun 14, but in Japan at that time, trucks were more popular than regular cars and also they had to postpone their plans on passenger cars because they were supposed to make military trucks as the World War II started.
