What is Rainy Season in Japan like?
There are rainy seasons in many countries and Japan has one too but very limited period of time.
Japanese rainy season lasts only for 3 weeks to 1 month between May and July depending on where you are.
It starts from Okinawa that is the southernmost part of Japan at the beginning of May, and gradually moves north over the rest of Japan in June. Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost part, is barely affected by this rainy season. During the season, we hardly have sunny days and very humid every day with fairly high temperatures making people obnoxious.
If you go to department stores during this time of a year in Japan, you will see a lot of cute and unique rain boots or other convenient rain tools.
