Gundam Can Be Also Eco-Friendly
Bandai Namco Holdings Inc. is a toy maker in Japan.
As part of their sustainability effort, they established about 190 collection points across Japan
where consumers can deposit the throw-away plastic parts after assembling the “Mobile Suit Gundam” model kits.
According to an estimate by Bandai Namco, about 2,000 tons of frame waste is generated from their Gundam products every year.
Furthermore, they’re considering using some of the collected plastic waste as test material for “chemical recycling,”
as opposed to conventional material recycling which tend to produce blackish and fragile plastics.
Kudos to Bandai Namco Holdings Inc. for implementing this simple yet innovative idea.
BE THE CHANGE. GO GREEN.
